Should there be more religion on television?
The Church of England's general synod has voted to back a motion expressing "deep concern" at what it believes is a cut in religious TV programming. Are enough religious programmes broadcast?
But the synod drew back from singling out the BBC, instead backing a motion aimed at all mainstream broadcasters, and called for more programming that "imaginatively marks major festivals".
The BBC said it had increased its coverage in recent years, while Channel 4 said religious programmes were "at the heart of its schedule".
Should broadcasters televise more religious programmes?
Should religion have a larger platform in the media?
Do you watch religious programmes?
What form should religious broadcasts take?

There should be no religious programmes on terrestrial tv, no objection to satellite channels broadcasting them though.

I think that far fewer people find sport offensive though.

It is a case of trying to please all kinds of folks .a choose of channels and what is on offer ..they must know if a programme is being watched if numbers make it worth while then continue
but let ALL viewers choose ..give them the choice .

It has nothing to do with a programme being offensive. TV is there for everyone so the spread of programme must encompass all tastes. I do not watch religious programmes but as Kat states that is a choice I make. I like sport but never watch cricket or golf because (which I do not enjoy) I know they are on and watch one of the other 4 channels, again my choice. If a particular programme offends me, I'll watch another channel, sort of makes sense to me.
As for are there enough religious prog's on TV, well there are for me but perhaps for religious people there could be one or two more. They could be put on during times of low audience volume because we can all set a recorder and watch again later.

No there shouldn't be more religion on tv if people want to know more or what ever go to a church. I don't want to watch something that is not true.
Re: Should there be more religion on television?
you can't watch much TV then, killer?

Re: Should there be more religion on television?
There is 66 books to the kj bible and 72to the catholic bible
how did that happen
what about the book of Enoch who left on a chariot of fire ,ie space ship
and the book of judas ,where jesus said no one will enter paradise on less he has suffered much
the gospel of barnabus ,
most of the bible is true plimmetoton but only half of it is there
rebirth is taken out ,
story of mary maderlaine is taken out ,
the young years of jesus is taken out ,
so if the vaitcan released all this it will be well worth watching it on tv ,
