GST EXEMPTIONS

New exemptions from GST have been announced.
Some of the relief granted is permanent, in other cases the tax is merely delayed.
Exemptions include imports of vehicles, equipment and tools used by outside contractors working in Jersey.
There will be no tax on services performed outside of Jersey.
So if you're going to a gig or concert outside of the island you won't have to pay the tax if you buy your ticket here.
Some hotels won't pay the tax until 2009.
Also, if you own a private boat or aircraft you'll be exempt from GST on port and landing fees until next year.
