Concern at UK tax rule change

Post by GD on Tue 11 Mar 2008, 10:12 pm

CHANGES to the UK tax rules will have an adverse impact on Jersey’s finance industry, according to a senior practitioner.

Anthony Cooke-Yarborough, chief executive officer of Mourant’s private wealth division, says that the industry has been ‘taken aback’ by the proposals, first announced in October.

UK Chancellor Alistair Darling will announce his final Budget plans tomorrow which are expected to clamp down on wealthy residents living in the UK but not paying tax there. (from this is Jersey)

The UK Chancellor will get his way....
