School Attendance Concern In Guernsey

Post by GD on Wed 08 Jan 2014, 7:36 pm

The island's schools are below the UK average for attendance with rates of 95 percent at Primary level and 92 percent at Secondary.

That adds up to almost half a day of school missed each week by every child.

That's the reason behind a new campaign which sees milk cartons carrying a message stressing the need to go to school.

The message reads - 'Whatever you want to be in the future, be in school today'.

The campaign is being supported by Headteachers, including Peter McGovern of Notre Dame Du Rosaire Primary School who was at the campaign launch earlier.

......THE BOSS......

"Always be yourself because the people who mind don't matter, and the people who matter don't mind"

Perhaps if they stopped sending children home for misbehaving the numbers will go up.
when we were kids if we misbehaved we had extra school work they have a week off to "cool down"
