Unions threaten to take States to court

Post by GD on Tue 04 Dec 2012, 5:26 pm

Unions are threatening to take Jersey's States to court because they're trying to impose a pay deal on many of the island's workers.

Public Sector Unions say they're extremely disappointed by the States Employment Board's unprecedented decision.

But the States say negotiations have broken down, and that they can't afford to increase their offer.

But there's better news for nurses.

The States say they've fallen behind other paygroups and have now offered them an improved deal.

What they're being offered?

*1% non-consolidated lump sum for 2012
*3% consolidated award for 2013
*4% consolidated award for 2014
