Guernsey's Scrutiny Committee aims to improve States decisions
Nine suggestions have been put forward in a report designed to speed up decision making by the States.
Guernsey Scrutiny Committee aims to ensure decisions, or resolutions, are more robust and that departments are more accountable.
One suggested initiative would be a database of all States resolutions, which would be open to the public.
A public consultation on the report, which is available on the committee's website, is due to end on 18 June.

I always thought that Scrutiny's job was also to ensure the 'proper' behaviour of politicians. I assume all new and old deputies have completed their lists of interests - including, of course, the interests of their immediate family. No more rocks supplied by the wife - marriage = joint interest.

Surely you are in danger of spreading the 'interest' net too wide if you include family. Where do you stop ?
If you dig deep enough you will de-bar most deputies from most debates.
Don't you trust the people you have voted for ?
