ITV 2 and 3 added to Channel Islands Freeview

Post by GD on Sat 28 Jan 2012, 4:18 pm

Two more channels will be added to the list of Freeview programmes available to the Channel Islands.

ITV2 and ITV3 will be made available via the service to the Bailiwicks of Guernsey and Jersey on 29 February.

Residents will need to retune their receiver equipment in order to receive the programmes.

On the same day, some channels across Jersey and Alderney will change frequencies in preparation for 4G broadband access in the islands.

Thistle you sure as hell don't want all the crap channels we get over here. Out of the 64 channels on offer, if you discount all the shopping, gambling, yankee rubbish, pop racket, smut and +1 channels, we have barely a dozen worth watching and some of them only broardcast in the evenings.

You ain't missing nuffink kid.

ITV and other commercial broadcasters are nothing to do with TV licensing. In fact, their lack of reception in some areas impacts them in terms of prospective advertisers and target audiences. If certain BBC services, financed by licensing, are not available then that is fair comment.

I have 17 channels on freeview at the moment and out of those there is only about four that i watch , so that is why i am glad i don't have to pay a license .

Some areas in england do not receive all the digital channels either. many rural areas are considered not viable by the commercial companies. Freesat is a better option than freeveiw or so i was told.
