Sark Newsletter asked to respect patient privacy

Post by GD on Thu 19 Jan 2012, 5:07 pm

The Sark Newsletter has caused harm to the island's residents and emergency services, according to two of the island's political committees.

The Emergency Services and Medical Committees claimed it had breached the privacy of two individuals by revealing confidential medical information.

They asked the newsletter, which is delivered free to every island home, to publish a full and unreserved apology.

The newsletter's editor Kevin Delaney has yet to respond to the comments.

The committees said the newsletter published the private medical information while reporting on two emergency medical evacuations to Guernsey.
