Dip in grades

Post by GD on Fri 02 Dec 2011, 6:36 pm

English results at primary schools in Guernsey have gone down.

The Education Department has released some headline results on the performance of 7 to 11 year olds following a report on Channel Television earlier this week.

But they point out there has been a slight increase in the number of pupils meeting or exceeding the expected level in science, and that maths results are stable.

Bailiwick primary schools don't use National Curriculum tests or SATs. Instead, like Jersey, they use teacher assessments.

Further information about results will be published in the Education Department's annual report in the new year.
