Social Security puts its faith in views of 60 islanders
A SURVEY which involved just 60 islanders will be used to assess Guernsey’s minimum income requirement.
Social Security is happy to stand by the study, despite concerns that it considered the views of fewer than 100 islanders.
Department minister Mark Dorey said he had confidence in the Loughborough University investigation, which found that households typically needed 20% to 30% more income than in the UK. Pensioners needed more than 40% extra.
The 60 local people who took part in the project did so in three focus groups and were asked to look at case studies.(from GEP)
Typical States, 60 islanders how can a proper assessment be carried out with so few....

Re: Social Security puts its faith in views of 60 islanders
Did this 'survey' take into account any difference in income etc between the UK and yourselves ? Or did it only look at expenditure.
Also, which part of the UK is it comparing with.
