Cohen to quit as Minister for Planning!

Sen. Cohen has announced he's quitting next Tuesday!*

So who would you like to see fill his shoes, and what would you have them do?

Agreed, I'd like to see Planning allow taller buildings on the Waterfront and St Helier in general. Maybe choose a max. allowable height from sea level for the buildings east of Pierson Road and west of Mot Millais.

Accept that Jersey is not a sleepy little backwater and start thinking of ourselves as a small city nation.

One thing Plannning must avoid is to try and make sole use developments that create dead areas at certain times, insist on mixed use, where retail, office and residential uses are mixed amongst each other.

Sleepy backwaters don't have hospitals, social security, infrastructure, airports etc. etc.
