New owner of Oatlands has some big plans

Post by GD on Wed 18 May 2011, 4:58 pm

OATLANDS’ new owner has pledged to expand on the facilities already offered at the tourist attraction as he aims to give visitors a real ‘Guernsey experience’.

Ironbridge Estate Holdings Ltd completed its purchase of Oatlands last Tuesday and its chairman Peter Kaufman-Kent, pictured, said he was looking forward to developing its offering and contributing to the island’s tourist industry.

Despite having lived in Guernsey for 12 years, Mr Kaufman-Kent is probably best known for investing about £30m. to have the Radisson Hotel built in Jersey.

‘I have spent five years investing money in Jersey’s tourist industry, but I live in Guernsey and it’s nice to be able to make a contribution to the Guernsey tourist economy,’ he said. (from GEP)

Good luck and I hope he succeeds but it has been tried before. Although this guy may have the capital to make a success.
