Longueville Manor unveils new look for 2011

Post by GD on Tue 03 May 2011, 9:54 pm

Today marks a significant milestone at Longueville Manor. Despite the challenging economic conditions over the past 24 months, the hotel has invested heavily in its offering to ensure it remains the Channel Island’s leading hotel. A comprehensive ground floor renovation is complete, coinciding with the launch of a new website and the Channel Island’s first hotel mobile app with Apple.

Malcolm Lewis explains: “Our entire team has done a tremendous job throughout this whole development process. While we have worked hard to protect and enhance the heritage of Longueville Manor, we are opening our doors with a fresh, classic contemporary look to our public areas. This is supported with an exciting new online presence and with the launch of our mobile app, meaning customers can find out about us and our stunning island home on the move. As the economy begins to recover, we are confident Longueville Manor is in a strong position to offer guests unique five red star experiences that have become synonymous with the hotel. We are seeing the shoots of economic recovery and look forward to this growing in 2011 as a result of our continued hard work and investment.”

Director of Jersey Tourism, David de Carteret reinforces the hotel’s positioning as a market leader in the Island. “Longueville Manor has been Jersey's leading hotel for luxury and consistent high quality for many years; loved by visitors and islanders alike. Today Jersey has 33% of its hotel bed stock in the ‘luxury hotel’ market and this number is growing as Jersey re-positions itself as a top quality destination for discerning guests. Throughout this shift and apparent rise in competition, Longueville Manor could have just sat back and relied on their continued past success. However, with the strong vision and leadership skills of the management team and devoted work force they have pushed forward with a strategy to create the foundation for what has become a benchmark for excellence within the tourism industry in Jersey in which others can aspire to. ”
Changes at the Manor include:

Longueville Manor’s ground floor renovation - the biggest change to the design and interior of Longueville Manor in many years is now complete. The entrance hall, bar area, drawing room, snug and reception have all been fully refurbished, a process led by owners, Malcolm and Patricia Lewis with the assistance of several local suppliers. Patricia, responsible for the interior design explains: “Renovation helps meet people’s rising expectations and enables us to maintain and expand our customer base. Longueville Manor has a unique ‘home from home’ feel and we wanted this to come across from the minute you walk through the door. The project was carried out in-house, rather than through a third party designer, and truly reflects our ethos and welcoming nature. It reflects the passion of the people at the heart of Longueville Manor.”

Embracing technology - Longueville Manor is the first hotel in the Channel Islands to launch a customised hotel application (‘app’) through Apple. Available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the Longueville Manor app allows the hotel to communicate with guests before, during and after their stay. The hotel recognised that the use of technology in the hospitality industry is exploding at a record pace and embracing new technology would help better achieve long term business goals and add to the overall customer experience. In just a few clicks, users can access details on the hotel, special offers, locate the hotel on a digital map as well as read things to do and discover in Jersey.

Online and Brand Development - keeping up with technological breakthroughs and international online trends, Longueville Manor has also launched a fresh, new website. The design showcases the hotel as it is now - although it was sophisticated and elegant before, the property is fresher and the website encapsulates this with a suite of new photography reflecting the renovation changes. Key site developments include a comprehensive online hotel gift voucher section, dedicated family section and automated social media feeds to keep users up to date with the latest content.
