Parish policing on the way

Post by GD on Tue 18 Jan 2011, 10:37 pm

Guernsey Police have set a date for when full parish-based neighbourhood policing will begin.

The beginning of February will see community officers across the island, each dedicated to a particular parish.

It follows a five-month review and restructuring of the entire police force.

In the five months since their new chief officer took over, the Force has gone through a major restructing that will see community policing right across the island, from the start of next month.

It has meant looking at the whole police service, cutting resources where they are not needed, and moving them to the front-line. (from CTV)

mmm seems I heard this all before .... Will it last... Time will tell...

We do have a few policemen and ladies who would be suitable for this job, they need an extra special quality to be able to walk the beat ,
they need to gain the respect of the people to start like the old style bobby had .
These should be in a group of there own ,and should be well published to who they are .once this is done they should then walk there partches learning about folks and how to treat those who they come into contact with ,and gaining the trust of young and old .
one this is done they all know where they stand and the police would also know their own patches .
the rules who be broken on many occasion but like many years ago you knew how far to go.
And what punishment you were in for .
