The shape of drinks to come?

Post by GD on Tue 11 Jan 2011, 9:00 pm

JERSEY’S pubs and clubs could introduce smaller measures of alcohol to tackle the problem of binge drinking and alcohol abuse.
The UK government has said that it is to scrap complex regulations that dictate the measures sold on licensed premises, and Economic Development Minister Alan MacLean will be looking at the UK developments as part of the overall review into the Island’s licensing laws, which he said were ‘in desperate need of modernisation’.
The review is currently taking place in conjunction with Home Affairs and Health and should be due for debate by next year. (from JEP)

Bet the prices wont drop....

The prices won't drop nor will these measures have any noticable effect on consumption. You need to change the way Society sees excessive drinking, currently they seem to tolerate it or join it!

Just means that folks will have a 'bigger' drink at home before they go out (if they go out) methinks - and definitely the prices won't drop - but a lot of places could go out of business - you can only be squeezed so far before the pinch hurts so much that you have to say 'enough is enough!!!!'
