Fort Tourgis hotel plan approved

Post by GD on Fri 17 Dec 2010, 11:43 am

Alderney should soon have a state-of-the-art conference centre and hotel.

Planning permission has been granted for a multi-million pound redevelopment of Fort Tourgis - the crumbling Victorian structure which looks over the north west coast.

Dutch company Verweij and Partners are behind the project. Spokesman Frans Verweig says the company is very pleased with the outcome and pleased, also, that the States and the people of Alderney have expressed confidence in the company.

The development, when it finally gets under way, will be one of the biggest ever private investments in Alderney...
