Lock up reminder after handbag thefts

Post by GD on Wed 17 Nov 2010, 12:35 pm

Guernsey Police are advising islanders to lock up properly, after two handbags were stolen from an unlocked car and house.

A brown leather handbag with a mobile phone inside was taken from an unlocked car in Mount row and a Burberry handbag was taken from a house that wasn't locked, in Queens Road.

The thefts took place between 8pm on Sunday and 8:30 on Monday morning.

Police say the thefts should warn islanders although Guernsey is a small and friendly place, it is not safe to leave houses and cars unlocked.

The force is appealing for anyone with information on the above incidents to contact PC Sullivan at Police Headquarters on 725111, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. (from CTV)
