The Poppy Appeal is officially launched in Jersey with a parade on Sunday.

The annual appeal is the Royal British Legion's principal source of fundraising. Last year Islanders gave generously to raise a grand total of 170,000.

There are a number of traffic restrictions in place for the parade.

No Parking Areas.
Sunday 31st October
7am until 1pm - no parking around the Cenotaph, York Street, from the Town Hall to Union Street or in Seale Street.

Roads Closed. 10.45am until 12.15pm - Seale Street, Charing Cross, York Street, Union Street from Devonshire Place to The Parade, Parade from Gloucester Street to York Street.

This year beer drinkers will be able to honour the armed forces and boost the funds. The Liberation Group is donating 10p from every pint sold in selected pubs to the appeal. (from CTV)
