THE youth house aimed at getting teenagers off the streets around the Bridge is officially open.

Sponsors and supporters of The Space, a project aimed at reducing antisocial behaviour, met yesterday lunchtime to celebrate and hear how it had developed. Evening sessions, when young people will be able to socialise on Fridays and Saturdays, will be open within two-to-three weeks once police checks have been completed on staff.

It is hoped that The Space will stop many youths from hanging around the Bridge late at night and drinking alcohol.

A good initiative, lets hope that it works, but, as with DeeCaf, will funding become a problem?

Don't suppose it will take 'them' long to wreck the place.
