Deputy Leon Gallienne accused of 'contempt'
The chairman of Guernsey's Public Accounts Committee has been accused of "showing contempt" for the States of Deliberation, by a fellow deputy.
The full details of a motion of no confidence in Deputy Leon Gallienne and his committee have been published.
Deputy Graham Guille is the lead signatory in the motion which will be heard at next week's States meeting.
The move followed the committee's decision not to speak in the Wales Audit Office report debate last month.
That development was compounded, in the view of Deputy Guille, by the chairman of Public Accounts giving interviews to the media.
The motion, if approved, would result in the automatic resignation of the chairman, four States members, and the four non-States members who make up the committee.
The audit office's report was critical of how the island's government works and Public Accounts was tasked with coming up with recommendations of how the States could improve based on the six guidelines of good governance.
Deputy Gallienne has declined to comment until he has spoken with his committee. (from BBC)
Oh dear looks like more inter-house fighting...
