Chief Minister warns Candidates as Islanders vote

Post by GD on Wed 23 Apr 2008, 9:31 pm

In less than 6 hours Guernsey will have chosen a new government, but it looks like the new house is in for a rude awakening.

Outgoing Chief Minister Mike Torode has serious concerns about some of the candidates standing in today's election, and having seen their manifestos, he says many of them are in for a shock.

Islanders in Guernsey's 7 districts are taking to the polls today to choose the next batch of deputies.

The Chief Minister says a lot of the States hopefuls don't really know what they're getting themselves into.

He says they've been making 'wild promises' and he doubts whether some of them have 'the bottle' to make 'unpleasant decisions'.(from Island Fm)

And try and sort out the mess left by the outgoing members...
The One and Only....
