Re: Charles Parkinson to leave the States
Dave thank you......
- I am not the first pensioner and I'm certain I won't be the last....I'm one of the lucky ones my husband is Australian! with the cost of living going up so fast we can't catch our breath and at the same time income from savings being next to nothing.....The other people on fixed incomes are stuck and we will soon see a great divide (it is actually visible now) but while we have a States member saying things like £80,000 per annum is a middle wage (GEP re: Aiport Firemen holding us to ransom) - what can the rest of us who are living on £9,000 be called............anyway as I said thank you for your wishes....from my point of view I just wish it was my choice, not my only option!

Re: Charles Parkinson to leave the States
For the record Karma, Sam Maindonald said something like that during the Social Security cap debate instigated by Matt Fallaize a few months previously.
In that same debate it could be heard that other Deputies were 'guffawing' at the proposal.
The gap will only get worse with these current policies of rich appeasement that Dave Jones espouses.

FR
What are you talking about, I have fought all my political life for the less well off, everything we have achieved at housing has been directed at those on low incomes and benefits. I was in favour of lifting the SS cap and said so at the time but I like many wanted SS to come back with a brief report so we could see what the ramifications would be if any.

Re: Charles Parkinson to leave the States
Actually Dave Jones, considering the history of the social housing stock, I think you're doing a good job. It's an expensive necessity and I'm sure the States' natural tendency is not that sympathetic to the idea in a general sense.
I apologise for misrepresenting you on the SS issue. There's nothing like a misinformed rant to pass the time!

That would be nice - yes it is a lovely city and the surrounding areas are beautiful - Anomiso lives on the other side of Mel to us which is a must to visit - the Yarra Valley - once we move a buy a new property (having sold the old ones, fingers crossed) I will let you have an addy and tel no - you would be more than welcome....
