Belvedere House is sold for £5m.

Post by GD on Fri 13 Jun 2008, 5:35 pm

BELVEDERE House has been sold under the hammer for £5m.
An auction to sell off the famous States property attracted around 200 people yesterday afternoon and saw four interested bidders push up the price to the reserve level.
If that price had not been met, the States could have abandoned the sale there and then. It is not yet known who the buyer is, but it is believed they intend to make it their family home.
Stephen Homer, an associate director of Jones and Partners, made the successful bid on behalf of a client who instructed him by mobile phone. Mr Homer has so far remained tight-lipped about the identity of the purchaser (from thisisguernsey)

Rumor has it that it be the new "Scott Palace".. but it is a rumor...

From what I remember of it, there`s a fair amount of work needs doing but I stil think £5m is a bargain price considering its location, the views it has and the size of the house itself. Shame I didn`t have the money as it would be a great investment

NEW BELVEDERE HOUSE OWNER IS REVEALED

Owner of Belvedere house.

The former piece of States real estate was auctioned off last Thursday to a mystery buyer for £5million.

The new owner is going to be officially announced on the 10th of July, but reports out today claim Mr Scott is the man behind the purchase.

Auctioneer Nick Renny is the Director of Martel Maides.

He says Mr Scott is likely to rip-out the interior and redesign the inside of the property.

All he has to do now is buy up the rest of the Fort properties and rename the area Fort Scottie...lol

There is a rumour that he wants to cut the big trees down on the seaward side of the property to have a unobstructed view of the other islands it is only a rumour.

Because the public were under the impression that it had to be sold if they wanted a new school , Hospital , runway ,etc etc that is why they sold the house the Vauquiedor and are trying to get rid of Fort Richmond ,what next ? this is criminal i just wish the people of Guernsy just said thats it no more and put a stop to this .
