Canvassing the Electorate

Post by Louise on Sat 19 Apr 2008, 1:08 am

I live in St Peter Port North and have been looking forward to the doorstep calls that the candidates in the last election made. This year, I've had one slip of paper through my door apologising for having called while I was out... strange that I couldn't hear a knock at the door but clearly heard the note coming through the postbox!
Is anyone else missing this personal touch? I am not able to attend hustings and really like to meet a candidate, have a chat, put across a few points.

We are in St Sampson's..
We have had all but one of the candidates manifesto's through the letter box..

No-ones actually rung the doorbell looking for a chat ....as most were posted...

yes - we are in St Peter Port North and as of now, we have only had one deputy ring the bell.  The other 2 have just put a manifesto/or letter saying sorry they missed us when they called but I was home.  That really annoyed me and neither of them will be getting my vote.

Unfortunately, there is no way I am going to get too see everybody. Today, quite a number of people were at home (Torteval area), so I met a good few, however, the more people at home the longer it takes.
I am setting aside part of Tuesday to visit specific people so if I have missed anyone, and I'm sure I will have, please feel free to give me a call, e-mail or PM and I will try and arrange a meeting.
Cheers
