The Enemy headline on 4 May

Festival granted alcohol licence

Alcohol will be on sale at the Guernsey Live music festival,
following a liquor licence being granted for the two-day event at
Victoria Avenue.

The licence will cover the whole arena from 1200 to 2300 BST. However alcoholic drinks are not allowed outside this area.
People will need an "18-plus" wristband to access the bars and cider tent.
Thousands are expected to attend. Acts due to appear include the Enemy, the Editors and the Futureheads.

Organisers said they also wanted to encourage people to take advantage
of an option of under 12s being allowing into the festival on 3 and 4
May for free if they are with an adult.

What do you think about booze being served ?

Festival loses £200K, but it’s not all over

GUERNSEY’S biggest ever music festival thrilled audiences at the weekend, but left organisers almost £200,000 out of pocket.

Ticket sales peaked on the Sunday at more than 3,500 and the crowds were taken aback by the quality of the event, but its organisers at Positiv Productions lost out heavily. That has not put off company director Warren Holt, who said the feedback he had received from festival-goers and performers had been outstanding.

And despite the loss, which was four times what he had expected, he did not rule out the possibility of a Guernsey Live 2009.

‘We certainly didn’t break even, but you can call it a loss or call it an investment, depending on what happens after this. I’ve been so positive for weeks and then on Saturday lunchtime I thought it’s now up to the Guernsey people,’ he said yesterday.

That seams a lot of money to lose i wonder if they will hold it again next year ?
