Condor Ferries has announced that it has invested in a larger ferry to operate on the route between the Channel Islands and St Malo.
The ship, which is to be called Condor Rapide will replace Condor 10 and is expected to come into service before the Spring Bank Holiday.
Condor Rapide is an 86m Incat fast catamaran and is a younger sister to both Condor Vitesse and Condor Express.
The high speed ferry has previously operated for brief periods in Australia, and across the
English Channel. However, she is most notable for her service as part of the Royal
Australian Navy when she was known as HMAS Jervis Bay.
