Lost wetlands

A National Trust for Jersey survey suggests 64% of our wetlands have been lost since 1795. 'Development' is the main cause of loss of habitat.

Hmmmmm puts me in mind of a letter written to the Guernsey Press by a visitor in the 1960's - it went along the lines of the fact that taking off from the airport and flying over Guernsey it reminded him of a large housing estate, surrounded by water!!!!......wonder what he'd say now!!!! Guernsey is fast catching up with Jersey for overbuilding!!!!
