Gas boss says energy policy is flawed
Guernsey's ambitions to phase out carbon based fuels is a big mistake.
The warning comes from Guernsey Gas who claim the move will increase carbon emissions and land the island with a bill running into hundreds of millions.
Guernsey Gas Managing Director, Paul Garlick says phasing out fossil fuels doesn't take into account the carbon footprint of imported electricity.
And Mr Garlick says he doubts if marine turbine generators - indicated as a possible new energy source - will ever be commercially viable.
He claims the technology - in which Guernsey Electricity has a stake - remains unproven in terms of reliability and is currently prohibitively expensive.
The States are due to debate energy policy proposals.(from Cioline)
Seems like a man who knows....

but has such a HUGE impact on people,
which makes it worth it's weight in gold"
