Re: The Longest Human Teddy Bear Chain - MS Society Charity Event
1,714… That's how many islanders turned out with their teddies to break the
world record for the longest ever teddy bear chain.
It was a sight like no other at Pembroke as the hundreds held the chain for 90
seconds to claim a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Every single person there donated at least £1 to the Guernsey branch of the
MS society.
Great effort ... Everyone well done

Well done to everyone, when I saw the weather I was concerned it would be a problem, but seems that the record was not just broken it was smashed to bits.
Re: The Longest Human Teddy Bear Chain - MS Society Charity Event
I’d like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to the 1,714 people (and teddies) that took part in the World Record longest human-teddy bear chain attempt on Pembroke Beach. We await official confirmation of Guernsey’s new World Record but we are very hopeful that this will be received in the next few days.
There has been a lot of interest in the commemorative teddy bears produced by Guernsey Toys. You may have seen the lovely, soft golden Teddy with its Guernsey embroidered with "Human-Teddy Bear Chain - 27th June 2008" on the back. Wendy at Credit-Suisse is putting together a final list to order more bears. If you wish to purchase one, please let Wendy know by email as soon as possible. The commemorative bears cost £30 each (proceeds to go to the MS Society).
Please indicate, red, green or navy as your colour preference for the teddy's jumper.
Wendy’s email is wendy.woodcock@credit-suisse.com
Lastly, there are now hundreds of photographs available to view and purchase, at very reasonable prices, at http://3294.e-printphoto.co.uk/fitzgeralds/index.cfm?z=z&y=y&p_id=8641419&c_id=93513&action=view – the panoramic photo showing the entire chain is fantastic.
Thanks again for your support.
