DELTA TAXIS’ successor company, Ashdon Lyme UK Ltd, is applying for a licence to run coaches after Environment said it could not carry on the cab business as usual.
Shortly before debt-ridden Delta was put into compulsory liquidation last week, Ashdon Lyme UK bought its assets and announced services would continue immediately.
But the Environment Department said Delta’s licences could not simply be transferred to the new company, and many people took issue with the sale and decided to boycott anything resembling Delta.
Ashdon Lyme UK’s owner, former banker Jonathan Rowe, of Route Carre, St Sampson’s, yesterday said: ‘We are applying for a licence to run the coaches.
‘There is still an issue with the taxis at the moment so I can’t talk about that now.’ (from thisisguernsey)
