Night porter hailed a hero after hotel fire

It was the quick thinking of a hotel porter that saved the Braye Beach Hotel and bar from an all out blaze.
Smoke alarms at 4am on Tuesday alerted Donald Vidal to the fire. He then called the fire brigade, evacuated the 11 hotel guests, and extinguished the fire all by himself
It seems the heat from a fire in a bin in the bar of the Divers Inn, spread down the beer supply pipes and into a storeroom where boxes of food set alight.
Nobody was hurt.
