Mini media war in Alderney?

A mini media war may be about to break out in Alderney with two fortnightly
parochial magazines soon to compete over a limited pot of subscribers and
advertisers.
For 30 years The Alderney Journal has been the principal local publication,
and for 30 years - until just earlier this month - the Journal has been
printed on island by Alderney Printers Ltd.
The last issue however, issue No. 896, was printed in Guernsey and future
issues will follow suit. But that move off island has upset
some residents who threaten to boycott the Journal and support the Alderney
printer who is now planning a rival publication called The Alderney Press
due out on 30 May.
The Journal currently sells every one of its fortnightly run of 1,350
copies, but whether or not there is scope for two parish magazines on the
block to survive is another issue altogether.

Bring back the Attic Press. The local rag is so pro finance and gov it is scary.
