Lifeboat rescues seven
Alderney's all-weather lifeboat "Roy Barker I" was launched at 10.58 this morning (Sunday) to help seven people on board the 38ft sailing boat "Osprey" which had broken down and was becalmed and drifting 2 miles south of the island.
The lifeboat was alongside "Osprey" in 20 minutes and a tow was established. The line parted 30 minutes into the haul; a fresh tow was connected and both vessels were safe in Braye Harbour at 1.11 this afternoon.
Thank goodness for the RNLI
