ALDERNEY Residents told to turn off thier taps

Alderney residents are being warned to be more careful with water.

Over May water consumption in the island showed a massive increase.

Last month saw a rise in water consumption of around a million gallons
compared to the monthly average.

That's about a quarter more than usual.

The sudden rise is being blamed on the relaxation of restrictions as well as
some leaks.

Alderney States members are urging islanders to be more careful with how much
